Security Lock Distributors Broadens Stocking Commitments

Security Lock Distributors (SLD) announced they have broadened their stocking commitments to a number of Assa Abloy manufacturers including SARGENT, Yale and Corbin Russwin. By stocking these brands, SLD now is recognized as a full stocking distributor of all Assa Abloy brands.

SLD management says that the additional lines strengthen their array of mechanical and electromechanical security hardware offerings. Eggers Industries’ Executive Vice President Harry Reichwald Retires

On December 31, 2008, Harry Reichwald, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Eggers Industries’ flush door facility, retired after more than 34 years of service to the company.  Harry began his career with Appleton Papers, and came to Eggers in 1974 while completing his Masters degree in Business Administration at UW-Oshkosh.

Harry came to Eggers as the Accounting Manager.  He progressed to Production Manager in 1978, Vice President – Manufacturing in 1986, then became Vice President – Operations in 1989 and was named the Executive Vice President & General Manager of flush door operations in 2000. 

Under Harry’s supervision, the facility implemented lean manufacturing, received numerous safety awards and completed almost five consecutive years, 2004 – 2008 without one late product shipment.  Beyond Eggers, his time and efforts to improve the wood door industry still remain prominent.  Harry chairs the Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) task force to streamline industry standard variation, and led the WDMA committee that published new flush door guidelines in 2004.  He also served on the WDMA board of directors from 2000 – 2007.

In addition to his professional contributions, Harry has also remained active in the community.  He served as a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church finance council from 1998 – 2003 and held membership in the Greenleaf-Wrightstown Optimist Club from 1998 – 2001.  In 1998 Harry received the Peter K. O'Rouke Special Achievement Award from the National Association of Governors' Highway Safety Representatives for his efforts to improve safety on Highway 41.  He also volunteered time in the Village of Shorewood, as a board member on the Village finance committee and chair of the board of appeals.

Eggers is proud of the many positive connections and industry leadership Harry has added to the company, and wishes him the best in his retirement endeavors.

Diederichs Promoted to Marketing Communication Specialist

Eggers Industries has promoted Bridget Diederichs to the position of Marketing and Communication Specialist.  Bridget will be responsible for Eggers internal and external marketing efforts including the company website, product release, advertising, trade shows, Eggers Institute, and internal training opportunities.

With three divisions in Northeast Wisconsin, Eggers Industries manufactures architectural flush doors, true stile and rail doors, door frames, veneered plywood panels, and custom components for premier commercial projects. Special applications include bullet-resistant, fire-rated, lead-lined, and acoustical doors, as well as FSC certified products that contribute points to the Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design (LEED) program. Eggers meets AWI, WI, and WDMA wood product standards.

Marshfield Doorsystems Door Withstands Abuse - Needs No Kickplates

Marshfield DoorSystems has announced the release of an institutional grade yet aesthetically pleasing DurableDoor product line.

The DurableDoor, released on January 26, is designed for excessive use in environments where heavy traffic is common, such as hospitals, healthcare centers and schools.  One of the product's unique features is that it has no protective edge guards or kick plates, yet it stands up to frequent use and abuse without showing wear and tear.

Safety is another DurableDoor feature; the line is available in fire ratings of 20 through 90 minutes.  In addition, the product is offered in a wide variety of solid colors and wood grains, and offers FSC certified and urea-formaldehyde (UF) free selections. It is built on the Marshfield DoorSystems Signature Series door chassis giving the DurableDoor a longer life cycle.

EKU Combino 60 From Häfele

Garage door manufacturer, ECP Safe-Way Door LLC has completed the introduction of new equipment into the Warsaw, IN, manufacturing facility. The new equipment has made possible the upgrading of Safe-Way’s entire residential door line as well as key segments of their commercial product line. Many new features and options have been added. The new equipment and re-tooling have resulted in the introduction of more than 20 new products over the past year.
