CRL Acquisition of Key Control Specialists Announced

C.R. Laurence Co., Inc. (CRL), a global supplier to the glazing, railing, architectural, construction, industrial, and automotive industries, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Key Control Specialists, also known as KCS.

KCS is the manufacturer of the SlideGuard, PatioGuard, CamGuard, and FixtureGuard lines of keyed, thumbturn, and combination locks for windows, doors, and display cases. 

Customers contacting KCS will now be routed to CRL’s Corporate Headquarters in Los Angeles, where a new KCS Locksmith Division has been established.   The new KCS toll free phone number is (800) 390-1311, and callers should ask for the KCS Locksmith Division at Extension 7799.  The department is open from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm (Pacific) Monday through Friday.

Richard M. Hornaday

Richard Mayfield "Dick" Hornaday, 75, of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Hornaday graduated from Washington and Lee University and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. He was executive vice president of Door and Hardware Institute from 1979 until 1993. He was also a former elder at The Lake of the Woods Church, as well as a past president of LOW Lions Club.

Mr. Hornaday is survived by his wife, Paula M. Hornaday of the Lake of the Woods; a son, Mark R. Hornaday and wife Nelofar of Springfield; a daughter, Leslie A. Hoff and husband Robert of Purcellville; and his mother, Annie Clair Hornaday of Washington, D.C.

Survivors also include grandchildren Joseph Mark Hornaday, Jared Richard Hornaday, Alexander Sarwer Hornaday, Jesseca Mayfield Hoff and Adam Robert Hoff. He is also survived by a brother, Fred E. Hornaday Jr. and wife Patsy of Chestertown, Md. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Eugene Hornaday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the following: The Lake of the Woods Church, One Church Lane; Lake of the Woods Fire and Rescue, 104 Lakeview Parkway; and Lake of the Woods Lions Club, Box 605, all at Locust Grove, VA 22508.
